Crestview Elementary Gets Creative With Flowers

Each month, Crestview Elementary students prepare for life in secondary education as they study one of the CTE programs that are offered at Frenship High School. For the month of May, students had the opportunity to study floriculture.

With the help from the United UCrew, students in the second-grade classes were able to learn about floriculture in a hands-on environment. They brought all the materials and instructed the second-grade students on how to make floral arrangements to give to the special women in their life on Mother's Day.

Bradley Gains, Business Director of Floral for United Supermarkets, spoke to the students about his career in floral and where and how the flowers grow

“This was a great hands-on experience for students,” said Tori Mahan, assistant principal at Crestview. “To be able to not only listen and learn about the occupation, but UCrew made it possible to live out that occupation for one afternoon. We are so thankful to have such a wonderful community that pours into our campus’.”
