The Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) holds three FRSLN conferences each year, with a different school district serving as the host site for each conference. Frenship was invited to host the last FRSLN stop of the school year, with the theme, "The Giant Side of Texas. Big ideas. Bold Leadership."

“When we were asked to host the event at Frenship, I was humbled but not surprised,” said Frenship ISD Superintendent Dr. Michelle McCord. “Frenship has always been a special place because of our students, staff, and families. The culture of servant leadership that lives here is what makes Frenship Nation one of the best districts in Texas.”

The first day of the conference featured powerful keynote messages from Texas Tech legends, former Women’s Basketball coach Marsha Sharp and Head Football Coach Joey McGuire. Both shared lessons on leadership, perseverance, and building strong team cultures. Attendees also toured multiple Frenship campuses, where they saw firsthand how students and staff are excelling in academics, athletics, fine arts, and a wide range of extracurricular programs at the local, state, and national levels.

“Opening our doors to leaders from across Texas gave us the chance to celebrate the incredible work happening in our classrooms every day,” Dr. McCord said. “Our goal was not only to share what makes Frenship unique, but also to learn alongside our colleagues and continue growing together.”

The second day of the conference highlighted the power of people through a leadership panel featuring Frenship ISD school board members, representatives from the Frenship Foundation, campus ambassadors, teachers, and community leaders; a chat with local developer and entrepreneur George McMahan; and a special spotlight presentation showcasing student success and programs at Frenship Memorial High School.

Dr. McCord said the event reflected the district’s commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration.

“Frenship is proud to be a district that learns, leads, and shares," Dr. McCord said. “Hosting FRSLN was an opportunity to showcase our people, but it was also a reminder that when educators come together with bold ideas and a shared purpose, the impact on students across Texas is truly powerful.”

Throughout the conference, visiting administrators collaborated with peers, exchanged ideas, and explored innovative practices they can take back to their own school districts. They also gained deeper understanding of Frenship ISD, and the heart behind a district driven by big ideas, bold leadership, and an unwavering commitment to students.
