Hello!

My name is Lori Sechrist.  I am so excited to start another Pre-K year here at Crestview Elementary.  I received my Early Childhood Education degree from TTU in 1999. I received my Master of Education Degree from Wayland Baptist University in 2001. I have been a Frenship Tiger since 2022.  I look forward to another year serving our youngest learners and their families here at Crestview Elementary.

 

A little about me...

I married Kenneth Sechrist in 1998.  We have two grown children.  Ashli is a 2nd grade teacher in Lubbock ISD.  Cody is pursuing an acting career in Los Angeles, California. Kenneth has been a mechanic at Pollard Ford since 1989.  My mom, a retired Pastor's wife, also lives with us.

A few of my likes and interests...

I enjoy reading, playing word games, and crafting in my free time.  My favorite color is blue.  My favorite food is chicken.  My favorite candy is...anything chocolate.  My favorite morning drink is French vanilla coffee.  My favorite afternoon drink is cherry vanilla Diet Coke.  My favorite sport is basketball.  I enjoy many genres of music and movies, but my favorites are action movies and classic rock.

I believe in Jesus and hold my faith dear to my heart.

I believe in the innate nature of human beings to be and do good things.

I believe people, including and especially the "littles", have the right to be heard and to have their words and convictions validated.

I believe in creating a safe environment for "littles" to think, feel, create, and express themselves.

I believe in the power of a positive mindset.

I believe that students who feel supported, empowered, safe, and validated have the ability to do great and amazing things.
